Connect Desktop Controls

Use the Connect option on your main menu in the desktop app.  If this option is not available to you, you may need to upgrade your KinderLogix subscription in Admin > KinderLogix Subscription.  The Connect package is required.

Options Tab

Send Options

With the option to "Send daily report automatically when a child is signed out" the educators do not need to manually tap the Send button on the mobile app.

Note: Auto-send runs at sign-out. If a child is signed out more than once in a day, another send can occur when new unsent report data exists. If educators already sent all current data manually, sign-out will not send duplicate report content again.

Tip: If your team wants educator review before family delivery, keep this setting off.

Messaging

Messaging in KinderLogix is done through SMS.  This means the parents do not need a KinderLogix mobile app to receive your message, or to send you messages.  They will send messages to your KinderLogix SMS number, and your messages will be received in the KinderLogix educator mobile app.

When you enable SMS Messaging, you will be prompted to select a phone number.  The phone number you choose here will be assigned to your KinderLogix account and that will become your SMS texting number.  If you disable SMS messaging after you've selected a number, you will have the option of keeping the number or releasing the number back into the pool.  This allows you to temporarily disable the feature as needed.

    Active Reports

Enable only the report types your center wants visible in the mobile app:
    • Needs
    • Health
    • Mood
    • Rest
    • Meals
    • Bottle
    • Diaper
    • Potty
    • Media
    • Activity
    • Milestones
You can disable reports as needed, but these changes are saved automatically and will immediately reflect on the options available in the educator mobile app.

    Items Tab

The Items tab controls the selectable lists educators see in mobile report forms.  Items are grouped by report type, and can be inserted either on the desktop app, or in the mobile app.  Any new items inserted in the mobile app will be assigned to the user who inserted them.  That user is considered the owner of that item and no other users can see or insert those items in reports.  Any new items inserted on the desktop app will be available to all users.  The item ownership can also be changed on the desktop app.

If an item needs to be fixed (typo) or deleted, this must be done on the desktop app.  It's a good idea to use this page to keep your items list "clean" so that there are no duplicates (similar names for the same item) and no spelling mistakes.

    Meals

Also listed on the Items tab are the meals.  The meals list is not like the other item lists because no new meals can be added here, and no meals can be deleted.  Your options are to disable the meals you won't use, and to change the default time of day for each meal.

    Users Tab

Use the Users tab to control who can create Daily Reports.
    1. Open Users in Daily Reports setup.
    2. Select or clear each user checkbox to enable or disable Daily Reports access.
    3. Use Select All or Select None for bulk changes.
Result: Unselected users cannot create Daily Reports in mobile.

    Reports Tab

The Reports tab is where desktop users review and manage existing Daily Reports.  The page shows up to 100 recent reports for the selected type, sorted chronologically.  You can filter this list, or find other reports no on this list, by using the search option at the top.  You can search for the family name, the child's name or the recipient's email
    address.

Reports that have been sent, will show a Sent date.  If no sent date is shown that means the report has not been sent yet.  You can open the unsent report here, and send it if desired, but if the report is for today, it's recommended that you wait until the child is signed out and the report will be sent automatically, if that feature is enabled.

Alternatively, you can disable the option to send automatically, and use this page to review reports created by educators, before sending manually.

    Stats Tab

The Stats tab summarizes Daily Report usage for the last 30 days.
    • Total reports sent
    • Most popular report type
    • Most time-consuming report type
    • Average time spent creating reports
    • Report activity by time of day
Use this data to adjust which report types you keep active and where staff workflow coaching is needed.
