After selecting an option, the appropriate insert page will open.
In Week or Day view, you can drag across a time slot to create a new item.
Closure dates (holidays, Christmas break, statutory holidays, etc.) appear on the calendar as greyed‑out, all‑day items.
You can create closure dates in two ways:
Closure dates are always full‑day entries and cannot be assigned specific times or colours.
Scheduled fire drills are managed separately from completed fire drills.
These can only be created in Admin > Calendar > Fire Drill Schedule
Scheduled fire drills can be completed by selecting the fire drill on the calendar. This will open the completion form where the user can record the results of the fire drill. This completed fire drill will then replace the scheduled fire drill.
Days when the centre is closed (typically weekends) are also shown as greyed‑out on the calendar. These are controlled by your business hours settings:
Admin > Calendar > Business Hours
Any weekday marked as “closed” will appear greyed‑out on the calendar.

The Public Calendar allows you to share selected calendar items with families or the public without giving access to your internal KinderLogix system. Only public events and centre closure dates appear on the public calendar. All other calendar items remain internal.
The Public Calendar is read‑only. Visitors cannot add, edit, or delete anything.
To access the public calendar settings, click the link icon in the top‑right corner of the calendar (next to the settings cog). This opens the Public Calendar panel, which contains two tabs:
