Educator Mobile App

Educator Mobile App

Overview

Info
This guide explains how to use the educator mobile app.  Click here for information on how to install the mobile app

The mobile app is designed for educators to manage attendance, children, daily reporting, and centre activity records from one place.

Common workflows include:
  1. Sign children in and out on Attendance.
  2. Open a child profile from the Children list.
  3. Record daily activity and reports.
  4. Insert incidents, completed fire drills, visitors, and calendar events.

Navigation

The main way to move through the app is the bottom navigation bar. It can show up to eight options at a time. Any extra options appear under More.... On smaller screens, fewer options may be shown on the bottom bar, so more items will be placed inside More.... The bottom bar also hides automatically when a popup is open, or when a small device is turned sideways and the keyboard is open.

The options shown on the bottom navigation bar may vary depending on your permissions, centre setup, screen size, and available features. This means two users may not see the exact same navigation options, and some items may move into More... instead of appearing directly on the bottom bar.

Tip: If you cannot find a feature, first confirm your user permissions and package access.

Children List and Profiles

You can now a child profile directly from the Children list.  This gives educators the fastest path to view child details and work from the child page without first going through search or attendance.

Child profiles may also still be opened from search or the attendance list, depending on your workflow.

Attendance

Attendance is used to sign children in and out and manage room flow. The button used to access Attendance is always the left-most navigation option, but its label may vary based on your configuration and permissions. For example, it may appear as Programs, Dayhome, or the name of a specific room or group if your access is restricted.

Important: If your centre uses automatic daily report sending at sign-out, signing a child out can trigger report delivery.

To move a signed-in child between rooms without triggering sign-out behavior, use the child’s Move option from the attendance view.

Daily Reports

The Reports option on the main nav bar is used for creating specifically group reports.  Individual daily reports can be created on individual child profiles.  Group reports are created once, and applied to multiple children.

Best practice: Most centres send one complete report at end of day, rather than sending many individual sections throughout the day.

Centre Records in Mobile

The mobile app supports creating operational records directly in app:
  1. Incidents
  2. Completed Fire Drills
  3. Visitors
  4. Calendar Events
These entries follow your centre permissions and become part of your normal records workflow.

Permissions and Access
If a button or module is missing, check:
  1. User role permissions for that feature.
  2. Centre setup for the related module.
  3. Package access (for example, Connect features).
